Just a quick note--
China is well on its way to becoming a stable and capitalistic society. Indeed the form their economy currently takes resembles crony-capitalism of the sort Adam Smith spent his career yelling about more than it does anything dreamed of by Marx or Engles...
That is one of the reasons I don't really fear Beijing having the ability to put a man in space and take him down again...
Ultimately the future of the Human Species probably belongs to the Chinese. I really don't see anything wrong with that. Our job is merely to set the tone for what acceptable governmental behavior looks like. Once the Chinese behave in ways that are acceptable, we should fear them not at all...
